Santa's Shoebox Project

We completed our biggest project of the year! Our goal was to collect 500 shoeboxes, fill them up with toiletries, food, clothing and other essentials that a homeless person may need and gift wrap each box. We are pleased to announce that we reached this goal!!!! It took a lot of hard work, endless hours of wrapping and packing. It was a fabulous way to generate Christmas spirit. We delivered all of these boxes to St Vincent DePaul Cares and Pinellas Hope Homeless shelter. It was heartwarming to gift these boxes to those in need. SO many commented that it had been years since they received a present.

November 2020

Wounded Warrior Project

One of our favorite organizations to support! We reached our goal for November and donated $1,000 to this worthy cause. We are truly grateful to everyone who helped us reach this goal. This organization supports veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. There are more than 52,000 servicemen and women physically injured in recent military conflicts. 500,000 living with invisible wounds, from depression to post-traumatic stress disorder. 320,000 experiencing debilitating brain trauma. With the support of our community of donors and team members, we give a voice to those needs and empower our warriors to begin the journey to recovery.

October 2020

Crisis Center of Tampa Bay

For the month of October, we supported The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10th every year. The objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world. The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay provides a range of programs and services to ensure that no one in our community has to face a crisis alone. They are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They provide help to people struggling with a variety of crisis situations such as abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergencies, suicidal thoughts and other situational problems.

We made a fabulous batch of “relaxeez” bath bombs. We used organic products and essential oils for these blissful bath bombs! Thank to to everyone who supported this great cause.

Honoring People of Service

This month we really wanted to honor all those fabulous people of Service!!! There are so many good people doing fantastic work each and every day that make our lives better!! So we wanted to say a big thank you We collected dozens of gift cards and got busy thanking all the service people in our community.  They were overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for being acknowledged.

August 2020

Hillsborough Education Foundation

For the month of August we are supporting our teachers and students!

During this unprecedented time in education, we believe the teachers need our support and love. There are also a number of vulnerable students that are at risk of falling behind in their studies as education adapts to Covid 19.

For our teachers we are hand-making a “Message in a Bottle”.  Each bottle will have uplifting messages for a teacher to remind them of how much we value and support them during this time. The proceeds of these sales will go towards purchasing school supplies for the Hillsborough Education Foundation - local purchases only.

July 2020

Liberty Manor for Veterans

Liberty Manor for Veterans serves some of the most deserving yet overlooked individuals of our community – our United States Veterans. Their mission is to help honorably discharged veterans who have fallen victim to homelessness.

Surprisingly 23% of the homeless population in the USA are Veterans.  Kids 4 A Cause worked hard to gather supplies for this worthy foundation. Two car loads of essentials like microwaves, bedding, pillows, towels, cleaning supplies, detergents, paper towels, canned goods, pots/pans and silverware were donated on 31 July 2020.

We feel passionate about citizens who do service for our country so helping these Veterans out was particularly significant for us.

June 2020

Vanhunks Boarding USA – waterway clean up project

During the month of June 2020  Kids 4 A Cause decided it was the perfect time, with social distancing in place, to inspire our followers to be more aware of the plight of our animals living in the waterways. We celebrated World Oceans Day on June 8 which reminds everyone of the major role the oceans have in everyday life. This is a day to celebrate together the beauty, the wealth and the promise of the ocean.  We managed to get Vanhunks Boarding USA to collaborate with us and Vanhunks graciously donated a kayak which would be raffled off to a supporting family. We inspired others to clean up our beaches, parks, rivers etc. and submit photographs of themselves making a difference! June was a fantastic month for our environment!

May 2020

St Mark Village Assisted Living

Kids 4 A Cause dedicated the month of May 2020 to “Older Americans”. A wonderful project called “Bunches of Love” was realized which involved supporting a local restaurant by firstly purchasing meals for the frontline staff at St Mark Village Assisted Living. Restaurants had taken major strain during the Coronavirus Pandemic . We decided it would be a good idea to support one of our favorites as a way to give back to this industry. We also purchased drinks and a small treat for the staff to complete the meal. Additionally, we created over eighty “bunches” of flowers in jars which would be delivered to the elderly at St Mark Village.  This included personalized inspirational cards and a small treat to show them our love and support during that difficult time of isolation. This was a particularly heartwarming act of service!

April 2020

Oldsmar Cares

April was a very productive month! We managed to reach our $1,000 goal to donate as well as provide a carload full of food items to Oldsmar Cares. Their mission and vision is to provide stop gap rent and utility assistance, a food pantry, and a clothes closet – at no cost- to those in need in the greater Oldsmar area in Florida. During lockdowns with many people losing their source of income, we thought Oldsmar Cares would be the perfect place to make some donations.  This is a wonderful organization doing some excellent work making a difference!

March 2020

No Kid Hungry

During March before lockdowns began, we managed to collaborate with the Girl Scouts from a local school and we taught them how to make beautiful handmade soaps. They assisted us by selling these soaps to raise funds for the No Kid Hungry program. This organization’s primary focus is to end childhood hunger. According to the USDA, more than 11 million children in the United States live in “food insecure” homes. This number dates from before the pandemic and many children receive their only meals whilst at school. With schools being closed from mid March we decided this is a huge dilemma for children counting on school meals. Once again, we managed to achieve our goal of $1000 or more and we successfully supported this very worthy cause.

February 2020

Humane Society of Pinellas

Animals hold a special place in our hearts. February was a wonderful month where we were able to inspire other children in the National Elementary

Honors Society at a local school to help us get pet supplies for animals in need. We collaborated with a local martial arts center and prizes were offered to three hard working volunteers who collected the most supplies! This was very exciting and our winner managed to collect over 80 items for animals in need! This is what we love most, inspiring other kids to get involved too! We collected two carloads of supplies and hand delivered these items to the Humane Society of Pinellas.

Luckily, we got to spend quality time with some of their fur friends and we were happy to see the fantastic job this organization does in finding “furever” homes for these pets.

January 2020

Holy Ground Homeless Shelter

We started off 2020 with a bang and we managed to collect 15 bags of clothing and enough personal care items to fill 50 gift boxes for the residents of the Holy Ground Homeless Shelter in Hudson Florida.

We teamed up once again with one of our favorite organizations, Project Pop Drop, to get this goal achieved. This was a fantastic way to start the year bringing hope and cheer to those less fortunate than ourselves.
